Graduate Teaching Opportunities

The program is committed to providing teacher training to interested and qualified students. Approximately 40 undergraduate English Department teaching positions are offered to graduate students during their second year in the program. Recipients of these positions design and teach a semester-long introductory course in creative writing for undergraduates and concurrently take a year-long teaching practicum offered by the program. These positions receive approximately $4200-4500 per course.

Candidates may also be eligible for a small number of teaching positions in the Expository Writing Program that offer a stipend and full tuition remission for two years. Applications must be received by EWP's February deadline. Applicants interested in applying should contact EWP Administrator Nancy White directly for information: ncw1@nyu.edu or 212-998-8860.
